Pregnancy & Postnatal Pilates

Newbury, Berkshire & Online

Pregnancy, or antenatal Pilates, offers a safe and supportive way to care for your body throughout each stage of pregnancy and postnatal recovery.

Sessions are carefully adapted as your body changes, with exercises thoughtfully modified throughout the trimesters to support comfort, stability, and wellbeing. Particular attention is given to posture, breathing, gentle core activation, and pelvic floor strength, helping you move with confidence in a calm and reassuring environment.

Your Pilates Journey

Initial Session

We always begin with a gentle, supportive assessment of your posture, movement, and how your body is feeling during pregnancy or postnatal recovery. We take time to understand any areas of discomfort, and what you need most from your sessions, creating a safe and considered starting point.

Your Programme

Sessions are carefully tailored to support your body through each stage, whether you are preparing for birth or rebuilding strength afterwards. We focus on breathing, pelvic floor connection, gentle core support, and overall strength, always working at a pace that feels right for you.

Ongoing Support

As your body changes, your programme evolves with you. Sessions are adapted to support recovery, restore strength, and build confidence in your movement, helping you feel more comfortable, supported, and connected in your body over time.

Each session is guided by Jenny, creating a calm and supportive space where you can move safely and with confidence.

Why Pilates is Beneficial for Pregnancy & Postnatal Recovery

Pilates is particularly well suited to support the body through pregnancy and postnatal recovery, helping you adapt to physical changes in a safe and considered way. During pregnancy, sessions focus on maintaining strength, supporting posture as your body changes, and working with breath and pelvic floor awareness to help you move comfortably and confidently. This can ease common discomforts such as back pain or tension, while gently preparing the body for birth.

After birth, Postnatal Pilates offers a structured and supportive way to reconnect with your body, rebuild strength, and restore function at your own pace. With a focus on the pelvic floor, deep core, and alignment, sessions help guide recovery safely while adapting to your individual experience.

Jenny is a qualified Pilates instructor and a Certified APPI Pilates for Women’s Health Instructor, with additional specialist training in pregnancy and postnatal Pilates, ensuring sessions are appropriate, supportive, and tailored to your stage of recovery.
